125-ft Syama Prasad Mookerjee Statue To Be Built In Kolkata

West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO) is preparing to appoint a sculptor for a 125-ft bronze statue of Syama Prasad Mookerjee at Eco Park in New Town, Kolkata. This will be the tallest statue of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder in the country. Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone in July this year. The project aims to honour Mookerjee on his 125th birth anniversary and is designed to become a major civic landmark and heritage tourism centre.

पश्चिम बंगाल हाउसिंग इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर डेवलपमेंट कॉर्पोरेशन (WBHIDCO) कोलकाता के इको पार्क, न्यू टाउन में श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी की 125 फुट ऊंची कांस्य प्रतिमा बनाने के लिए एक मूर्तिकार नियुक्त करने की तैयारी कर रहा है। यह भारतीय जनसंघ के संस्थापक की देश की सबसे ऊंची प्रतिमा होगी। केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने इसी साल जुलाई में इसकी नींव रखी थी। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य मुखर्जी की 125वीं जयंती पर उन्हें सम्मानित करना है और इसे एक प्रमुख नागरिक स्थल और विरासत पर्यटन केंद्र बनाने का लक्ष्य है।
