Mumbai: CBI Arrests 5, Including CPWD Engineer, in Rs 1 Crore Bribery Case

The CBI has arrested five individuals in Mumbai, including a CPWD Executive Engineer, his relative, and three officials from a real estate group, in a bribery case. The engineer allegedly demanded ₹1 crore for issuing an NOC for a construction project in Wadala, later settling for ₹70 lakh. The CBI laid a trap and apprehended the engineer's relative while accepting ₹50 lakh. The Executive Engineer was arrested while awaiting the bribe money, and other associates were also taken into custody.
