Supreme Court: Swear Words Not Obscenity Alone

The Supreme Court has ruled that the use of swear words and vulgar expletives, by themselves, does not constitute obscenity under Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code. This clarification from the apex court means that abusive language alone cannot be the sole basis for an obscenity charge.
