RBI Hikes Policy Rate by 25 Basis Points to 5.50%
Economic Times · stocks
The Reserve Bank of India has increased its policy rate by 25 basis points to 5.50%, leading to higher borrowing costs for new home, car, and personal loan customers. Existing home loan borrowers may face increased monthly installments or longer repayment periods when their loan rates are reset. While demand for affordable homes will be closely watched due to reduced disposable income, strong demand fundamentals and robust GDP growth are expected to absorb the negative impact.
