Tamil Nadu Ministers Appeal Madras HC Order Allowing DMK Defamation Suit

Tamil Nadu ministers Aadhav Arjuna and C T R Nirmal Kumar have appealed a Madras High Court order that allowed the DMK to file a Rs 1.01 crore defamation suit against them. The ministers had objected to the DMK's general secretary representing the party and the lack of a two-month notice period. A division bench has agreed to hear the appeal. The single judge had previously ruled that the court's scope for granting leave to sue is limited to examining the cause of action within its jurisdiction.

तमिलनाडु मंत्रियों ने मद्रास HC के डीएमके मानहानि मुकदमे की अनुमति वाले आदेश के खिलाफ अपील की

तमिलनाडु के मंत्रियों आदव अर्जुनन और सी टी आर निर्मल कुमार ने मद्रास हाई कोर्ट के उस आदेश के खिलाफ अपील की है जिसने उन्हें डीएमके द्वारा 1.01 करोड़ रुपये के मानहानि मुकदमे को दायर करने की अनुमति दी थी। मंत्रियों ने पार्टी का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाले डीएमके के महासचिव और दो महीने की नोटिस अवधि की कमी पर आपत्ति जताई थी। एक डिवीजन बेंच ने अपील सुनने पर सहमति जताई है। एकल न्यायाधीश ने पहले फैसला सुनाया था कि मुकदमा दायर करने की अनुमति देने के लिए अदालत का दायरा उसके अधिकार क्षेत्र के भीतर कार्रवाई के कारण की जांच तक सीमित है।
