MG Park Turns Wild Despite Crores Spent On Redevelopment

Times of India · india

Mahatma Gandhi Park in Hubballi has become overgrown and neglected, with dense vegetation turning parts of it into a jungle. Visitors are concerned about safety risks due to reduced visibility on walking paths and a persistent stray dog menace. The park was redeveloped under the Smart City project at a significant cost, intended to improve public amenities. However, basic upkeep like grass-cutting and cleaning has reportedly been overlooked. The HDMC commissioner stated that maintenance is the contractor's responsibility and a notice will be issued.
