Delhi Public School (DPS) in Vadodara will decide on refunding or adjusting the Rs 15,000 security deposit collected from students, following intervention by the District Education Officer (DEO). The decision came after an RTE activist staged a protest demanding an end to the practice. An inquiry confirmed the school collected the deposit, which it claimed was for damages or unreturned items. The school management assured the DEO it would decide on the refund or adjustment at its next meeting.

वडोदरा में दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल (डीपीएस) छात्रों से ली गई ₹15,000 की सुरक्षा जमा राशि को वापस करने या समायोजित करने पर फैसला करेगा, यह जिला शिक्षा अधिकारी (डीईओ) के हस्तक्षेप के बाद हुआ। यह फैसला तब आया जब एक आरटीई कार्यकर्ता ने इस प्रथा को समाप्त करने की मांग को लेकर विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। एक जांच में पुष्टि हुई कि स्कूल ने यह जमा राशि ली थी, जिसे स्कूल ने नुकसान या वापस न की गई वस्तुओं के लिए बताया था। स्कूल प्रबंधन ने डीईओ को आश्वासन दिया कि वह अपनी अगली बैठक में वापसी या समायोजन पर निर्णय लेगा।
