Jamia Builds Wall Near Protest Gate Amid Student Hunger Strike; University Denies Link

Times of India · education

The Jamia Millia Islamia administration has constructed a wall near Gate No. 10, a key entry point for student protesters, amid an ongoing hunger strike. Students allege this move is intended to restrict access to their protest site, where they are demanding student union elections and the revocation of disciplinary actions. The university spokesperson, however, stated the construction is a routine annual security upgrade and unrelated to the ongoing agitation. The hunger strike has now entered its 12th day, with a university committee reviewing the students' demands.
