Sunil Gavaskar: India Should Stop Searching For Hardik Pandya's Replacement

Times of India · sports

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar believes the search for a direct replacement for all-rounder Hardik Pandya should cease, as his unique skill set is irreplaceable. Instead, Gavaskar suggests focusing on players who can fulfill different roles while ensuring a strong bowling attack. He advocates for India to field at least four specialist bowlers, using all-rounders as additional bowling options. Gavaskar highlighted Naman Dhir as an example of a player capable of contributing with both bat and ball, citing his performance in the recent T20I series.
