Mount Etna Ash Halts Flights At Sicily Airport

Flights at Catania International Airport in Sicily have been suspended due to volcanic ash from Mount Etna. This is the second time in recent months that the busy airport has halted operations because of emissions from Europe's tallest active volcano. Airport officials stated that arrivals and departures, initially stopped on Monday, would remain suspended until Tuesday evening. The INGV Etneo Observatory issued a red aviation alert due to the ongoing volcanic activity.
