The Anti-Tobacco Forum in Mysuru has called for the upcoming Mysuru Dasara 2026 to be declared a 'Tobacco-free' event. Convenor Vasanthkumar Mysoremath emphasized the need to maintain the city's cleanliness and protect non-smokers from harmful smoke and spitting. He suggested using large billboards with anti-tobacco messages and engaging celebrities to spread awareness. The forum also proposed deploying officials to enforce fines for violations under the COTPA rules, aiming to safeguard public health and the environment during the grand festival.

मैसूर में एंटी-तंबाकू फोरम ने आगामी मैसूर दशहरा 2026 को 'तंबाकू मुक्त' आयोजन घोषित करने की अपील की है। संयोजक वासनतकुमार मैसूरमाथ ने शहर की स्वच्छता बनाए रखने और धूम्रपान न करने वालों को हानिकारक धुएं और थूकने से बचाने की जरूरत पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने तंबाकू विरोधी संदेशों वाले बड़े बिलबोर्ड का उपयोग करने और जागरूकता फैलाने के लिए मशहूर हस्तियों को शामिल करने का सुझाव दिया। फोरम ने भव्य उत्सव के दौरान सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य और पर्यावरण की सुरक्षा के उद्देश्य से COTPA नियमों के तहत उल्लंघन के लिए जुर्माना लगाने के लिए अधिकारियों को तैनात करने का भी प्रस्ताव दिया।
