Two Officials Arrested For FCRA Bribery

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced the arrest of two government officials by the Delhi Police Special Cell for allegedly seeking illegal gratification. The officials were apprehended in New Delhi on September 28 for facilitating pending Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) registrations. One official works in the MHA's Foreigners Division, while the other previously served there. The MHA stated that further investigation is underway to ensure foreign funding does not affect internal security. Approximately 14,456 FCRA-registered NGOs actively receive around ₹22,000 crore annually.

गृह मंत्रालय (MHA) ने दिल्ली पुलिस की स्पेशल सेल द्वारा कथित तौर पर अवैध रिश्वत मांगने के आरोप में दो सरकारी अधिकारियों की गिरफ्तारी की घोषणा की। अधिकारियों को 28 सितंबर को नई दिल्ली में लंबित फॉरेन कॉन्ट्रिब्यूशन (रेगुलेशन) एक्ट (FCRA) पंजीकरण की सुविधा के लिए पकड़ा गया था। एक अधिकारी MHA के विदेश प्रभाग में काम करता है, जबकि दूसरा पहले वहां सेवा दे चुका है। MHA ने कहा कि विदेशी फंडिंग आंतरिक सुरक्षा को प्रभावित न करे, यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए आगे की जांच जारी है। लगभग 14,456 FCRA-पंजीकृत NGO सालाना लगभग ₹22,000 करोड़ प्राप्त करते हैं।
