Delhi Border Checks For BS-VI Norms Cause Massive Traffic Jams

Business Standard · automobile

Intensified vehicle checks at Delhi's interstate borders to enforce BS-VI pollution-control restrictions caused massive traffic snarls on Monday. Commuters faced hours of delays as long queues formed on roads connecting the capital with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Congestion was reported at multiple entry points, including Delhi-Gurugram and Delhi-Noida, as teams checked vehicles for compliance. Non-compliant petrol and diesel vehicles registered outside Delhi are barred from entering the city as part of winter pollution control measures.
