At least 82 people have died following the collapse of an informal gold mine in Sudan's West Kordofan state. Dozens more miners are still missing as rescue operations continue. The incident occurred at the al-Zara mine near Nuhud, an area under the control of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The collapse began in a single shaft on Sunday and subsequently spread to interconnected tunnels, complicating rescue efforts.
