Ministers Seek Dismissal of DMK Defamation Case

Ministers Aadhav Arjuna and C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar have asked the Madras High Court to reject the DMK's request to file a ₹1 crore defamation suit against them. The ministers argue that the suit is not maintainable because the DMK failed to follow mandatory procedures under the Code of Civil Procedure. They contend that the statements made were in their official capacity and did not constitute defamation. The ministers stated that proper notice should have been served before filing the suit. The case is expected to be heard soon.

मंत्रियों, आदव अर्जुन और सी.टी.आर. निर्मल कुमार ने मद्रास हाई कोर्ट से डीएमके के ₹1 करोड़ के मानहानि मुकदमे को खारिज करने की मांग की है। मंत्रियों का तर्क है कि यह मुकदमा चलने योग्य नहीं है क्योंकि डीएमके सिविल प्रोसीजर कोड के तहत अनिवार्य प्रक्रियाओं का पालन करने में विफल रही। उनका कहना है कि जो बयान दिए गए थे वे उनकी आधिकारिक क्षमता में थे और मानहानि का गठन नहीं करते थे। मंत्रियों ने कहा कि मुकदमा दायर करने से पहले उचित नोटिस दिया जाना चाहिए था। मामले की सुनवाई जल्द होने की उम्मीद है।
