NASA's Roman Telescope Captures First Starlight Image

NASA's new Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope has captured its first test image of starlight. The view is currently blurry, as expected, while the telescope travels to its operating position one million miles from Earth. Engineers will use this image as a baseline to align the telescope's optics and bring stars into focus. The Wide Field Instrument, a 300-megapixel infrared imager, is designed to photograph large sky areas for surveying exoplanets and studying dark energy.
