Identify Budha Dariya Pollution Sources in 15 Days, Demands PAC

The Public Action Committee (PAC) has urged the Punjab government to ensure concrete results from a newly formed 10-member panel tasked with cleaning Budha Dariya. The environmental group demands the identification of pollution sources within 15 days and a binding timeline for curbing illegal discharges within 30 days. They also called for independent audits of treatment plants and transparent monitoring of contaminants. The PAC stressed a holistic approach to restore the entire ecosystem and urged authorities to submit a comprehensive plan to the National Green Tribunal by January 5, 2027.

पब्लिक एक्शन कमेटी (PAC) ने पंजाब सरकार से बुड्ढा दरिया की सफाई के लिए गठित 10-सदस्यीय नई समिति से ठोस नतीजे सुनिश्चित करने को कहा है। पर्यावरण समूह ने 15 दिनों के भीतर प्रदूषण स्रोतों की पहचान और 30 दिनों के भीतर अवैध डिस्चार्ज को रोकने के लिए एक बाध्यकारी समय-सीमा की मांग की है। उन्होंने ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट के स्वतंत्र ऑडिट और दूषित पदार्थों की पारदर्शी निगरानी का भी आह्वान किया। PAC ने पूरे पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र को बहाल करने के लिए एक समग्र दृष्टिकोण पर जोर दिया और अधिकारियों से 5 जनवरी, 2027 तक National Green Tribunal को एक व्यापक योजना प्रस्तुत करने का आग्रह किया।
