Hassan Deputy Commissioner KS Latha Kumari defended her decision to issue a notice to Superintendent of Police Shubanwita regarding a ban on Ganesh idol immersion at Devigere pond. She stated it was an administrative issue concerning public safety and protecting the water body's sanctity, citing pollution concerns based on a tahsildar's report. Kumari clarified the action was to safeguard the water source, not to offend religious sentiments, and that an unpermitted immersion had occurred.

हसन की डिप्टी कमिश्नर केएस लथा कुमारी ने देवगिरे तालाब में गणेश मूर्ति विसर्जन पर रोक लगाने को लेकर एसपी शुभान्विता को नोटिस जारी करने के अपने फैसले का बचाव किया। उन्होंने कहा कि यह जन सुरक्षा और जल निकाय की पवित्रता की रक्षा से जुड़ा एक प्रशासनिक मामला था, और उन्होंने तहसीलदार की रिपोर्ट के आधार पर प्रदूषण की चिंताएं बताईं। कुमारी ने स्पष्ट किया कि यह कार्रवाई धार्मिक भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंचाने के लिए नहीं, बल्कि जल स्रोत की सुरक्षा के लिए की गई थी, और यह भी बताया कि बिना अनुमति के विसर्जन हुआ था।
