India Probes Glycine Imports From China

India has launched anti-dumping probes into Glycine imports from China, a chemical used as a flavour enhancer and pharmaceutical ingredient. A domestic manufacturer, Avid Organics, filed the complaint alleging that dumped imports are causing material injury to the local industry. The Directorate General of Trade Remedies will investigate data from 2022-25. If dumping and injury are confirmed, anti-dumping duties may be recommended to the Finance Ministry to ensure fair trade practices.
