Apple to Replace Exploded iPhone, Pay Damages to Injured Customer

A district consumer commission in Aligarh has ordered Apple India and a local seller to provide a new iPhone or refund its original price with interest to a customer whose phone exploded. The blast caused severe injuries and damaged important photos and videos. The company and seller must also cover the customer's medical expenses of ₹36,139 and ₹5,000 for legal costs. Failure to comply within 45 days will result in punitive action under the Consumer Protection Act.

अलीगढ़ की एक जिला उपभोक्ता आयोग ने Apple India और एक स्थानीय विक्रेता को उस ग्राहक को नया आईफोन देने या उसकी मूल कीमत ब्याज सहित वापस करने का आदेश दिया है, जिसका फोन फट गया था। इस धमाके से गंभीर चोटें आईं और महत्वपूर्ण तस्वीरें और वीडियो खराब हो गए। कंपनी और विक्रेता को ग्राहक के ₹36,139 के चिकित्सा खर्च और ₹5,000 के कानूनी खर्च का भी भुगतान करना होगा। 45 दिनों के भीतर अनुपालन न करने पर उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम के तहत दंडात्मक कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
