Chief Election Commissioner's Power Worries Indian Citizens, Supreme Court Told

A Supreme Court hearing began on a petition against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार के खिलाफ एक याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट में सुनवाई शुरू हुई। वरिष्ठ वकील विकास सिंह ने दलील दी कि वर्तमान में सीईसी किसी भी संवैधानिक प्राधिकरण से ज़्यादा शक्तिशाली हैं, जो 1990 से बदला है। उन्होंने कहा कि सीईसी की मौजूदा शक्तियों से हर भारतीय नागरिक असुरक्षित महसूस करता है। सिंह ने आगे बताया कि जज चुनाव आयोग के फैसलों को पलट नहीं सकते। जस्टिस जे. बागची ने राष्ट्रपति को दी गई महत्वपूर्ण शक्ति पर ध्यान दिया।
