BFI Faction Claims Majority Support, Seeks Ad-Hoc Panel
Times of India · sports
A faction within the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) claims the support of 27 of 35 state units and eight executive committee members in its move against president Ajay Singh. The faction met with the Minister of State for Sports and the IOA CEO, submitting a memorandum alleging governance lapses and seeking an independent ad-hoc committee. This comes after the Punjab and Haryana High Court stayed a no-confidence vote. Both factions are asserting majority support, intensifying uncertainty in Indian boxing administration.
