Iran Targeting UK Military Sites, Suspected Plot Not Unique: MI5 Chief

The Hindu - International · world

Iran is intensifying its efforts to target military sites within the UK, according to MI5 Director General Ken McCallum. He stated that a suspected plot against a US-run military air base at RAF Fairford is not an isolated incident, with similar attempts occurring globally. McCallum noted a significant shift towards harder targets, including arson and sabotage, often carried out by Iranian proxies. This comes as authorities investigate a plot linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard, involving accelerants found in vans near the base.
