Actor and activist Prakash Raj has raised concerns about attempts to divide India into those with and without voting rights. He claims the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has removed over 13 crore people nationwide. Raj stated that those disenfranchised include Adivasis, daily wage labourers, Dalits, Muslims, Christians, and other minorities. He urged people in Tamil Nadu to protest the SIR process and also criticized recent legislation regarding the selection of the Chief Election Commissioner.
