Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager John Chayka has publicly backed goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, reaffirming the team's confidence despite his challenging start to the 2026-27 NHL season. Bobrovsky has struggled, holding a 3-5-2 record with a 3.29 goals-against average and an.885 save percentage. His performance in a recent 5-4 loss to the Seattle Kraken, where he allowed five goals on 17 shots, drew criticism. Despite these struggles, Chayka emphasized Bobrovsky's elite competitive nature and track record, stating the organization believes he will regain consistency as the season progresses.
