Vidarbha is experiencing an unseasonably hot October, with temperatures significantly exceeding normal levels due to dry weather and minimal rainfall. Amravati recorded the highest maximum temperature at 39.6°C on Tuesday, surpassing its previous October record. Other cities like Wardha, Akola, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, and Nagpur also reported high temperatures, several degrees above normal. This intense heat follows a monsoon season with a 27% rainfall deficit in the region. Meteorological factors, including an anti-cyclonic circulation, are contributing to the clear skies and suppressed cloud formation, intensifying the daytime heat.
