The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a plea seeking an FIR against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on the Sikh community made in the US in 2024. Justice Vikram D Chauhan stated that the allegations were based solely on newspaper reports, lacking specific details of the date, time, or place of the statements. The petitioner had approached the high court after lower courts rejected similar applications. Gandhi had previously defended his remarks, accusing the BJP of spreading lies and distorting his statements.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी के खिलाफ 2024 में अमेरिका में सिख समुदाय पर की गई टिप्पणियों के लिए FIR दर्ज करने की याचिका खारिज कर दी है। जस्टिस विक्रम डी चौहान ने कहा कि आरोप केवल अखबारों की रिपोर्टों पर आधारित थे, जिनमें बयानों की तारीख, समय या स्थान का कोई खास विवरण नहीं था। निचली अदालतों द्वारा इसी तरह की याचिकाओं को खारिज करने के बाद याचिकाकर्ता ने हाई कोर्ट का रुख किया था। गांधी ने पहले अपनी टिप्पणियों का बचाव करते हुए BJP पर झूठ फैलाने और उनके बयानों को तोड़-मरोड़ कर पेश करने का आरोप लगाया था।
