Former Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has criticised the police action against CJP protesters but distanced himself from the organisation, stating that defending the issue does not equate to supporting the party. He clarified that his 'We The Leaders' movement does not support the CJP's agenda, which differs from theirs. Annamalai asserted that while he supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, questioning government decisions is still necessary. He emphasised that arrests should follow due process and legal procedures, not be driven by revenge.

तमिलनाडु के पूर्व बीजेपी अध्यक्ष के अन्नामलाई ने CJP प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ पुलिस कार्रवाई की आलोचना की है, लेकिन संगठन से खुद को अलग कर लिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि मुद्दे का बचाव करने का मतलब पार्टी का समर्थन करना नहीं है। अन्नामलाई ने स्पष्ट किया कि उनके 'वी द लीडर्स' आंदोलन का CJP के एजेंडे से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है, जो उनसे अलग है। अन्नामलाई ने जोर देकर कहा कि वह प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व का समर्थन करते हैं, लेकिन सरकारी फैसलों पर सवाल उठाना अभी भी जरूरी है। उन्होंने कहा कि गिरफ्तारियां बदले की भावना से नहीं, बल्कि उचित प्रक्रिया और कानूनी तरीकों से होनी चाहिए।
