The Election Commission of India (ECI) has defended its Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls before the Supreme Court, asserting that the process was lawful and unanimously approved by all three members. The ECI stated that orders issued on June 24, 2025, October 27, 2025, and May 14, 2026, received the backing of the Chief Election Commissioner and both Election Commissioners. The poll panel denied allegations of amending Form 6, explaining that a separate declaration was used for verification purposes.
