Supreme Court Stays Probe Against Pinarayi Vijayan & Kin For One Week

The Supreme Court has stayed the Kerala Police's investigation into former CM Pinarayi Vijayan and his relatives in the CMRL-Exalogic payoff case for one week. A special bench noted that the single judge's order directing an FIR and investigation might not have followed statutory requirements. The court permitted Vijayan and his family to appeal against the single judge's order before the high court's division bench. The apex court clarified that its observations did not touch upon the merits of the case.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने पूर्व CM पिनाराई विजयन और उनके रिश्तेदारों के ख़िलाफ़ CMRL-Exalogic पेऑफ़ मामले में केरल पुलिस की जांच पर एक हफ़्ते के लिए रोक लगा दी है। एक विशेष बेंच ने कहा कि FIR और जांच का आदेश देने वाले एकल न्यायाधीश का आदेश वैधानिक आवश्यकताओं का पालन नहीं कर सकता है। कोर्ट ने विजयन और उनके परिवार को एकल न्यायाधीश के आदेश के ख़िलाफ़ हाई कोर्ट की डिवीजन बेंच में अपील करने की अनुमति दी। शीर्ष अदालत ने स्पष्ट किया कि उसकी टिप्पणियों ने मामले के गुणों को नहीं छुआ है।
