He stated that the government is committed to encouraging sportspersons, noting that ₹1 crore is awarded for gold, ₹75 lakh for silver, and ₹50 lakh for bronze medallists in international events. Additionally, the government will introduce 2% reservation for sportspersons in future recruitments. These measures aim to provide necessary support and infrastructure to promote sports and honour athletes' sacrifices.

कर्नाटक के उपमुख्यमंत्री जी. परमेश्वर ने रविवार को घोषणा की कि वार्षिक दशहरे खेल कूद प्रतियोगिताओं के विजेताओं के लिए नकद पुरस्कार राशि बढ़ाई जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार खिलाड़ियों को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है, और बताया कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं में स्वर्ण पदक विजेताओं को ₹1 करोड़, रजत पदक विजेताओं को ₹75 लाख और कांस्य पदक विजेताओं को ₹50 लाख दिए जाते हैं। इसके अलावा, सरकार भविष्य की भर्तियों में खिलाड़ियों के लिए 2% आरक्षण शुरू करेगी। इन उपायों का उद्देश्य खेल को बढ़ावा देने और खिलाड़ियों के बलिदानों का सम्मान करने के लिए आवश्यक सहायता और बुनियादी ढांचा प्रदान करना है।
