The ancient Chunar pottery industry in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur district, famous since the Mughal era, produces decorative items and idols from red clay, ceramic, and Plaster of Paris. These handcrafted goods are in high demand both domestically and internationally, with supplies reaching states like Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, and Gujarat. This traditional craft sustains the livelihoods of approximately 300 families, including artisans and retailers. A Common Facility Centre has been established to support the production of various items, including kitchenware and stone sculptures, ensuring the industry's continued vibrancy.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मिर्ज़ापुर ज़िले का चुनार पॉटरी उद्योग, जो मुग़ल काल से मशहूर है, लाल मिट्टी, सिरेमिक और प्लास्टर ऑफ़ पेरिस से सजावटी सामान और मूर्तियाँ बनाता है। ये हस्तनिर्मित वस्तुएँ देश और विदेश में बहुत माँग में हैं, जिनकी सप्लाई छत्तीसगढ़, पश्चिम बंगाल, उत्तराखंड और गुजरात जैसे राज्यों तक पहुँचती है। यह पारंपरिक शिल्प लगभग 300 परिवारों, जिनमें कारीगर और खुदरा विक्रेता शामिल हैं, की आजीविका चलाता है। विभिन्न वस्तुओं, जिनमें रसोई के बर्तन और पत्थर की मूर्तियाँ शामिल हैं, के उत्पादन का समर्थन करने के लिए एक कॉमन फैसिलिटी सेंटर स्थापित किया गया है, जिससे उद्योग की निरंतर जीवंतता सुनिश्चित होती है।
