Powai police are investigating a burglary where cash, gold, and diamond jewellery worth Rs 25.9 lakh were stolen from a 17th-floor flat in Hiranandani Gardens. The theft occurred without signs of forced entry, and building CCTV cameras were non-functional. The stolen items included Rs 7 lakh cash, 20 gold coins, wedding bangles, earrings, bracelets, chains, and two mangalsutras. Packets for some gold coins were later discovered in a choked bathroom drain. The couple suspects a former domestic help who allegedly retained a flat key.
