Employees of the Shri Kshetriya Gandhi Ashram in Meerut have been staging a continuous protest for three years to protect the ashram's property, which they consider a national heritage. The protest began, and was temporarily suspended, due to assurances, but resumed, as no concrete action was taken. Employees allege that members from the Meerut regional ashram and Lucknow are attempting to sell the property.

मेरठ के श्री क्षेत्रीय गांधी आश्रम के कर्मचारियों ने आश्रम की संपत्ति को राष्ट्रीय धरोहर बताते हुए उसे बचाने के लिए लगातार 3 साल से धरना प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं। आश्वासन मिलने के बाद धरना शुरू और स्थगित हुआ था, लेकिन कोई ठोस कार्रवाई न होने पर फिर से शुरू हो गया। कर्मचारियों का आरोप है कि मेरठ क्षेत्रीय आश्रम और लखनऊ के लोग संपत्ति बेचने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।
