Times of India · india
A two-day power strike across Haryana has been called off after Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini assured electricity employees that no private parallel power distribution licences would be granted in the state. The strike had caused prolonged power outages, disrupted water supply, and halted industrial production for over 24 hours. The government invoked Section 108(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003, to direct the state electricity regulator against operationalising such licences. The Chief Minister ordered immediate restoration of electricity in all affected districts, resolving the widespread disruption.
