झारखंड के गुमला में एक तीन साल की बच्ची से रेप के मामले को कथित तौर पर स्थानीय पंचायत ने दबाने की कोशिश की। सूत्रों के मुताबिक, पंचायत ने आरोपी के परिवार से 20,000 रुपये का जुर्माना लिया, जिसका इस्तेमाल दावत में किया गया। पुलिस ने गांव पहुंचकर किशोर आरोपी को गिरफ्तार कर लिया। अब एक मजिस्ट्रेट जांच करेगा कि पंचायत ने आरोपी को बचाने में क्या भूमिका निभाई।
