Jaipur's UNESCO World Heritage City status is under threat as the Rajasthan High Court has taken strict notice of illegal constructions and encroachments in the walled city. The court has demanded an action plan within two weeks, warning that the tag could be revoked by December 2026 if corrective measures are not taken. Local MLA Amin Kagzi alleges that historic Havelis are being demolished to build illegal multi-storey complexes and restaurants.
