The Kerala High Court has upheld a 10-year prison sentence for a man convicted of raping and molesting a 73-year-old woman in Thrissur in 2022. The court dismissed the appeal filed by Muhammad of Thrissur, stating that the survivor's testimony alone was sufficient to establish guilt. Justice A. Badharudeen noted that the absence of injuries did not discredit her account, as she had waited to consult her children before reporting the crime. His bail was cancelled, and he was ordered to surrender to serve his sentence.

केरल हाई कोर्ट ने 2022 में त्रिशूर में एक 73 वर्षीय महिला से बलात्कार और छेड़छाड़ के दोषी पाए गए व्यक्ति की 10 साल की जेल की सज़ा को बरकरार रखा है। कोर्ट ने त्रिशूर के रहने वाले मोहम्मद की अपील खारिज कर दी और कहा कि पीड़िता की गवाही अकेले ही अपराध साबित करने के लिए काफी थी। जस्टिस ए. बदरुद्दीन ने कहा कि चोटों की अनुपस्थिति से उसकी गवाही पर शक नहीं किया जा सकता, क्योंकि उसने अपराध की रिपोर्ट करने से पहले अपने बच्चों से सलाह लेने का इंतज़ार किया था। उसकी जमानत रद्द कर दी गई है और उसे अपनी सज़ा काटने के लिए सरेंडर करने का आदेश दिया गया है।
