Supermarket Freezers Overheat in Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg Amid Cyberattack Fears
Times of India · world
Grocery stores in Sweden, Belgium, and Luxembourg experienced significant temperature increases in their freezers and refrigerators overnight, sparking concerns of a potential cyberattack. This incident follows a similar event in France weeks prior, where hackers disrupted cold storage systems at hundreds of supermarkets, leading to substantial food spoilage. Technicians worked through the night to address the overheating units. Several retail chains, including Ahold Delhaize and Coop, reported disruptions, with at least one confirming cyberattacks affected their cooling systems.
