Butterflies Saved From Extinction in Michigan

Researchers in Michigan have successfully revived the Poweshiek skipperling butterfly, which was on the verge of extinction. In 2022, only nine of these butterflies were found in the wild. Through dedicated captive breeding and habitat restoration efforts, over 1,300 butterflies were released in 2025. This conservation success is now inspiring efforts to save other endangered butterflies and restore vital prairie ecosystems.

मिशिगन के शोधकर्ताओं ने पोवेशेक स्किपरलिंग तितली को विलुप्त होने के कगार से बचा लिया है। 2022 में सिर्फ़ नौ तितलियाँ मिली थीं। कड़ी मेहनत और उनके रहने की जगह को ठीक करने के बाद, 2025 में 1,300 से ज़्यादा तितलियाँ छोड़ी गईं। यह कामयाबी दूसरी लुप्तप्राय तितलियों को बचाने और घास के मैदानों को फिर से हरा-भरा करने की प्रेरणा दे रही है।
