Former Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar protested outside the Punjab Development Commission (PDC) office, accusing it of corruption and bypassing constitutional bodies. He alleged that over 85 appointees draw monthly salaries ranging from ₹1.5 crore to ₹1.7 crore from the state treasury. Jakhar claimed the commission is involved in illegal data collection and misuse, citing a lack of Punjabi members and consultation with legislators. He demanded transparency in development plans or the commission's shutdown, questioning its necessity alongside existing planning departments.
