The Supreme Court has directed that peaceful protesters should not be illegally detained, issuing a notice to the Centre regarding alleged violations of its previous order. A bench ordered the Solicitor General to ensure Delhi Metro operates normally and internet services are not disrupted, subject to law and order. The court was hearing pleas alleging illegal detentions and the closure of metro stations and railway services during recent protests. It also emphasized that lawyers and journalists must not be impeded in their professional duties.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा है कि शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शनकारियों को अवैध रूप से हिरासत में नहीं लिया जाना चाहिए। कोर्ट ने केंद्र को नोटिस जारी कर अपने पिछले आदेश के कथित उल्लंघन के बारे में पूछा है। एक बेंच ने सॉलिसिटर जनरल को निर्देश दिया कि वे सुनिश्चित करें कि दिल्ली मेट्रो सामान्य रूप से चले और कानून-व्यवस्था के अधीन इंटरनेट सेवाएं बाधित न हों। कोर्ट हालिया विरोध प्रदर्शनों के दौरान अवैध हिरासत और मेट्रो स्टेशनों व रेलवे सेवाओं के बंद होने के आरोपों वाली याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई कर रहा था। कोर्ट ने इस बात पर भी जोर दिया कि वकीलों और पत्रकारों को उनके पेशेवर कामों में कोई बाधा नहीं आनी चाहिए।
