Times of India · business
Western Railway's Ratlam Division has generated Rs 26.96 crore by auctioning approximately 5,000 metric tonnes of scrap during the current financial year. This revenue was generated under Indian Railways’ ‘Zero Scrap Campaign’. Key items auctioned included two condemned electric locomotives, passenger coaches, and unserviceable equipment. The initiative, guided by Divisional Railway Manager Ashwani Kumar, aims to clear unserviceable materials, optimize space, and maximize revenue from condemned assets. This drive has successfully freed up vital operational space across railway yards and repair facilities.
