They assert that his maternal grandfather, Akheraj Songara, resided in Pali, and tradition dictates the first child is born at the maternal home. Historical experts, however, state there is no mention of Pali in historical texts regarding his birth. They maintain that Kumbhalgarh Fort, with existing evidence, is his confirmed birthplace, refuting the Pali claim due to the political climate of 1540.
