An Indian court has extended the detention of Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), by two more days. The activists were arrested for protesting at Jantar Mantar despite a ban, following a crackdown on demonstrations against the government. The CJP is protesting the removal of 130 million names from voter lists, alleging it favours the ruling BJP. The Election Commission denies this, stating wrongly deleted voters can re-enrol. The CJP plans to challenge the detention order in a higher court.
