Woman Injured In Palakkad Accident Dies After Treatment

A 21-year-old woman, Devika from Kozhikode, died early Sunday from injuries sustained in a road accident near Mangalamkunnu. The accident occurred Saturday evening when the pickup van she was traveling in collided head-on with a truck. Devika, her sister Arunima, and nephew Abhijith were returning to Kozhikode from Palakkad. The occupants were trapped and rescued by locals. Devika was initially taken to a private hospital before being shifted for specialized treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries.

कोझिकोड की 21 वर्षीय देविका की रविवार तड़के मंगलमकुन्नु के पास सड़क दुर्घटना में लगी चोटों के कारण मौत हो गई। यह दुर्घटना शनिवार शाम को हुई जब वह जिस पिकअप वैन में यात्रा कर रही थी, वह एक ट्रक से आमने-सामने टकरा गई। देविका, उसकी बहन अरुणिका और भतीजा अभिजीत पालक्काड से कोझिकोड लौट रहे थे। स्थानीय लोगों ने फंसे हुए लोगों को बचाया। देविका को पहले एक निजी अस्पताल ले जाया गया और फिर विशेष इलाज के लिए शिफ्ट किया गया, लेकिन उसने दम तोड़ दिया।
