Tense scenes unfolded in Pulivendula, the home constituency of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, as violence marred the nomination process for municipal elections. Clashes erupted between YSRCP cadres and police, leading to a lathi-charge, tear gas deployment, and firing in the air. YSRCP alleged candidates were prevented from filing nominations, while the ruling TDP accused the opposition of staging a drama to disrupt the process. Incidents of stone-pelting and clashes were also reported in other areas of Kadapa district, with several YSRCP leaders placed under house arrest.
