Al Jazeera · world

A report by Global Rights Compliance reveals a network is recruiting North Koreans for forced labour in Russia using bogus student visas to bypass UN sanctions. Businessman Vladimir Sokolov's platform, KNDR.su, markets workers for agriculture, construction, and IT, charging significant placement fees. Workers are reportedly made to work 12 hours a day, six days a week. This scheme helps fund Pyongyang's missile development and potentially supports Russia's military-industrial complex, despite UN prohibitions on North Korean labour.
