Parliamentary Panel Flags NTA Lapses Post NEET Leak, Seeks Overhaul

A Parliamentary panel has called for a significant overhaul of the NTA following the NEET-UG 2026 question paper leak, despite enhanced security measures. The committee, chaired by Congress MP Mukul Wasnik, recommended making the medical entrance exam computer-based, developing secure question banks, and investing NTA's surplus in government-run test centres. The panel noted that the cancellation, even with strengthened safeguards, highlights the need for greater procedural and institutional reforms.

एक संसदीय समिति ने NEET-UG 2026 प्रश्न पत्र लीक के बाद NTA में बड़े सुधार की मांग की है, भले ही सुरक्षा उपाय बढ़ाए गए थे। कांग्रेस सांसद मुकुल वासनिक की अध्यक्षता वाली समिति ने मेडिकल प्रवेश परीक्षा को कंप्यूटर-आधारित बनाने, सुरक्षित प्रश्न बैंक विकसित करने और NTA के अतिरिक्त धन को सरकारी परीक्षा केंद्रों में निवेश करने की सिफारिश की। समिति ने कहा कि मजबूत सुरक्षा उपायों के बावजूद परीक्षा रद्द होने से प्रक्रियात्मक और संस्थागत सुधारों की आवश्यकता पर प्रकाश पड़ता है।
