A 49-year-old Bengaluru woman lost Rs 1 lakh from two bank accounts after attempting to get a Rs 441 refund for returned clothes. She searched online for the e-commerce company's customer care number and called a fake helpline on October 31. The caller, posing as an executive named Tushar Singh, guided her through steps on her phone, leading her to click a link and enter details. Unauthorised transactions occurred between 11:14 am and 11:17 am the same day, with the money siphoned off via a digital payment app.

49 साल की बेंगलुरु की एक महिला कपड़े वापस करने के लिए 441 रुपये का रिफंड लेने की कोशिश में अपने दो बैंक खातों से 1 लाख रुपये गंवा बैठी। उसने ई-कॉमर्स कंपनी का कस्टमर केयर नंबर ऑनलाइन खोजा और 31 अक्टूबर को एक नकली हेल्पलाइन पर कॉल कर दिया। तुषार सिंह नाम के एक एग्जीक्यूटिव के रूप में पेश करने वाले कॉलर ने उसे अपने फोन पर कुछ स्टेप्स बताए, जिससे उसने एक लिंक पर क्लिक किया और डिटेल्स भर दीं। उसी दिन सुबह 11:14 से 11:17 के बीच अनधिकृत ट्रांजेक्शन हुए और डिजिटल पेमेंट ऐप के जरिए पैसे निकाल लिए गए।
